Position

We are seeking a dedicated professional Paralegal to manage our day-to-day relationships with debt recovery and litigation suppliers, playing a crucial role in the enforcement of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs). This position is key to supporting our Group's broader debt recovery and litigation strategy, with a focus on improving payment ratios and minimizing disbursement costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for debt recovery and litigation suppliers, addressing daily queries and issues promptly.
  • Review and approve witness statements for litigation, making necessary amendments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Evaluate the merits of litigation cases, identifying non-compliant or low-prospect cases to reduce disbursements and mitigate cost risks.
  • Process insolvency documentation, ensuring the enforcement approach is adjusted as needed for affected PCNs and that all documentation is up to date.
  • Investigate and gather evidence for complex queries, coordinating with accounts and sales teams, and escalating to the Group Litigation Manager when necessary.
  • Provide expert guidance to internal teams on debt recovery and litigation matters, including handling late-stage client cancellations.
  • Supply site documentation to suppliers upon request, ensuring all documents are compliant and current at the time of enforcement.
  • Manage 'Defended Claims' by issuing instructions to legal suppliers and assessing the viability of settlements.
  • Approve disbursements and other costs related to litigation activities, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
  • Stay informed on regulatory and legislative changes affecting the enforcement of PCNs.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including the closure of end-of-strategy PCNs, processing driver nominations, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

Who You Are:

  • A recent graduate, or other academic qualification
  • Organised and strategic in workload planning
  • Able to work own initiative
  • Have the ability to express ideas and views clearly to others in writing adjusting one's use of language to the audience's level
  • An individual eager to take an active role in the Debt Recovery and Litigation team, offering support to both the team and the team manager

Salary: £23795.20 per annum

Hours: 40 per week
