About ARVOO

ARVOO is a leading Dutch technology company that has been developing Computer Vision products for more than 30 years. What makes us unique? Both hardware and software are designed and produced entirely in-house, from our location in Harmelen. Our applications range from parking enforcement and access control to sorting machines for sprouts and detecting street waste and defective street lighting. We stand for technologically advanced, high-quality products with excellent customer-oriented service. Integrity, teamwork and respect for colleagues and customers are central to our corporate culture.

Why work at ARVOO?

ARVOO is growing rapidly and we want to develop new products in an increasingly shorter time frame. That is why we are expanding our team of Embedded Software Engineers. One of our unique strengths is the seamless integration of software and hardware. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you help to optimally coordinate these components and directly contribute to the success of products such as our scan cars, which are now used in 28 Dutch municipalities. At ARVOO, you will also quickly be involved in other tasks, depending on your interests and strengths. This can vary from answering customer questions to developing non-embedded software and thinking about hardware developments.

What will you do?

In your role as Embedded Software Engineer, you will work on various tasks, both small-scale and larger projects. This could be, for example: reading a temperature sensor or designing and programming a microcontroller that controls the power supply of a scan car. The most important part of your job is developing software for new generations of embedded computers and camera sensors.

Your daily activities include:

  • Developing drivers and device trees and programming microcontrollers in C.
  • Making functions from the APIs of embedded hardware manufacturers available in an in-house developed library with a Python shell. This includes controlling accelerators such as an ISP.
  • Making the functions of microcontrollers available in C# and Python.
  • Helping to solve customer questions, especially if they have to do with embedded software.

What do we expect from you?

  • HBO work and thinking level.
  • Experience with embedded software and programming drivers and/or other low-level software.
  • Affinity with hardware.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.
  • Solution and improvement-oriented and responsible.
  • Accurate, independent and disciplined in your work.

What do we offer you?

  • A temporary contract for 24 - 40 hours per week with the prospect of a permanent employment contract. Flexible working hours, so you can tailor your work to your private life
  • 8% holiday pay and 25 vacation days.
  • Attractive secondary employment conditions, including travel allowance.
  • Monthly joint lunches and Friday afternoon drinks.
  • Super fun colleagues with a passion for technology and innovation, who are always up for a cup of coffee, a game of table football or darts in the canteen.
  • Fun team activities, such as our internal (virtual) golf competition.

Your future at ARVOO

At ARVOO, you will have the opportunity to think along from day one about how our products and organization can be improved even further. We encourage you to contribute your ideas and expertise, with plenty of opportunities to grow within our organization.
