The FLASH marketing team is excited to be scaling and wants people who are craving an opportunity for big impact with other passionate marketers. We are looking to add a Communications Manager – who will have a key role in helping shape both internal and external communications for a category-creating brand in the mobility ecosystem.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Corporate Communications, the ideal candidate will play an active role in helping ensure that our overall corporate communications strategy is resonating with our key target audiences with the express goal of building and maintaining a positive corporate brand. An expert at communications in all its nuanced forms, the Communications Manager can just as easily draft a press release as they can draft a bylined article and everything in between. This member of the team will offer high-level leadership regarding messaging and outreach and help with both external and internal messaging.

This unique opportunity gets to help shape and share the story of a rebel brand that’s challenging convention in the mobility and smart cities sector.

What you'll do/have

  • Put the company at the center of everything they do; demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the company’s business, products, markets, and influencers.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop, execute, and monitor internal and external communications strategy.
  • Act as the day-to-day contact between the company and the PR firm to ensure efficient communications.
  • Possess deep media relations prowess and a high level of acumen across the media relations landscape.
  • Build and maintain ongoing media relationships and secure coverage with target trade and vertical media to help accomplish business goals and objectives
  • Monitor headlines news and relevant trade news for possible media opportunities on breaking and trend news
  • Leverage traditional media as well as emerging technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach. (Influencer experience a plus)
  • Manage media relations at the trade and regional level (Austin, TX and Chicago, IL)
  • Work closely with Experiential Event Marketing Manage, Director, and PR firm to develop pre-, during, and post-communication plans around tradeshows, B2B, and B2C events.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred.
  • 5 - 6 years; B2B experience is preferred with a strong knowledge of SaaS and technology communications
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and doesn’t sweat when short turnaround times are required
  • Excellent writing and research skills with a superior ability to tell a data-driven story in a journalistic style that is customary for corporate and external channels
  • Superior interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, who can easily navigate conversations with executives, employees, and media, alike
  • A self-motivated, go-getter with the ability to own and lead communications projects confidently with minimal direction
  • A Love to develop processes and resources that achieve team effectiveness and business goals
  • Proficient in using Google Suite; familiarity with Salesforce, Hubspot, Adobe Creative Suite, and PR tools, like Meltwater, TrendKite, or CisionPoint, a plus.
  • Light travel to tradeshows and activations
  • Preference for Austin as homebase but open to remote applicants
