Contracts Attorney (Austin, US)

FLASH is seeking a contracts attorney to join our Finance & Accounting team to provide high quality business, legal and sales contracts review, analysis, administration and negotiation. The contracts attorney is responsible for supporting all levels of the organization with the review and administration of all contracts including establishing and maintaining a contracts repository and database. This role reports to the Contracts Manager and would need to be located in Austin.

We are looking for a collaborative team player that can work effectively with staff members at every level of our organization, as well as external clients, vendors and business and legal partners. The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter and capable of working with minimal direction, can adjust to new situations quickly, and be comfortable interacting with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. Given the sensitive nature of the data our team handles, the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness is critical.

What you'll do

  • Draft, review, revise, and negotiate various agreements including master service agreements, vendor/supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, construction agreements, SaaS agreements, and reseller agreements, with an emphasis on outbound contracts.
  • Work closely and partner with the Sales teams on transactions that drive the company’s revenue.
  • Enforce contracting policies, which may involve obtaining and documenting approvals for non-standard terms and pricing, assisting sales teams with on-going administration of client contracts, and providing training to sales and other departments on contract issues and negotiation strategies.
  • Perform other special assignments, strategic projects or duties as assigned.
  • Advise and interpret contract requirements, obligations and risks.
  • Proactively work with internal stakeholders to improve and scale all aspects of the contracting process, including improving templates and workflow.

What you bring

  • JD, LLB&LLM, or equivalent law degree.
  • Experience with technology companies with a focus on companies with a SaaS business model.
  • Experience reviewing and redlining commercial contracts.
  • At least 2 years of experience reviewing, redlining, and managing commercial contracts
  • Knowledge of data protection privacy laws a plus
  • Experience with a contract management software a plus
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple business functions in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-growth environment, as well as experience navigating ambiguity.
  • Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision; excellent project management skills and outstanding communication and follow-up skills to drive process and results to a conclusion.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work along with an ability to adapt well to changing and competing priorities, as well as unexpected situations, with grace and professionalism.
  • Excellent judgment and experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity, credibility, and character of unquestionable ethical standards.
