Role Overview:
As a Business Development Team Lead, you will play a critical role in driving pipeline growth and mentoring HONK’s Business Development Representatives (BDRs). You will work closely with sales and marketing teams to aggregate valuable insights that inform business strategies and identify new growth opportunities. This leadership and activity-based role focuses on generating actionable insights, improving data consistency, and enhancing reporting quality, creating synergy across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Introduce HONK's innovative software solutions, making impactful first impressions with prospects through cold calling and other outreach methods.
- Source and prospect from lead repositories, continuously identifying new business opportunities.
- Engage with both inbound and outbound leads via the CRM and execute outbound call campaigns targeting the existing customer base.
- Qualify leads from various sources, including cold call lists, website forms, emails, and chat inquiries.
- Schedule meetings with prospective clients to strengthen HONK's opportunity pipeline.
- Ensure the integrity of lead and account data by consistently verifying and updating information in Salesforce.
- Track and report on key performance metrics, delivering daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
- Meet and exceed goals set by Sales Leadership.
- Collaborate with marketing demand generation teams and attend regular sales meetings.
- Perform sales operations and administrative duties as needed.
- Assist in recommending and implementing new software solutions to improve team efficiency.
- Contribute to the creation of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the BDR team and assist in developing the BDR playbook.
- Mentor junior team members through regular one-on-one sessions, fostering their professional growth.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience as an Business Development Representative (BDR) or inside sales representative, ideally in software or SaaS (other relevant industries will also be considered).
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Leadership experience in being a team lead or mentor is required
- Proven sales aptitude with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and activity targets.
- Strong business acumen and passion for driving value for customers.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a natural ability to build rapport and assist clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with fluency in French (both written and spoken) being highly desirable.
- Strong multitasking abilities and a proactive mindset.
- Experience using Salesforce.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
