Here at Passport, the majority of our sales come through a competitive procurement process, requiring Passport to answer government Request for Proposals (“RFPs”). The proposal is a critical step in bringing new business to Passport and the Proposal Writer plays an important role in our continued success. The Proposal Writer works hand-in-hand with the other members of the Proposal Operations team and internal stakeholders to construct clear, concise, and powerfully written responses. In this role, the Proposal Writer ensures the value proposition of Passport’s current product offerings are effectively communicated by way of writing and editing proposal components to put forth the most compelling solutions possible for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert on Passport’s full suite of products
  • Organize and format proposals in accordance with Passport’s standardized writing rules and layouts
  • Attend internal and external kickoff meetings to understand project scope
  • Utilize content library and previous bids to provide compliant proposal responses to all general, non-technical requirements
  • Ensure each proposal requirement is answered, with answers remaining aligned with Passport’s standard operating procedures and product roadmap
  • Collaborate with teammates across the organization to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely
  • Write persuasive and accurate responses to RFPs that are read by key stakeholders in the largest cities in North America
  • Work with the Design team to create graphics and visuals for projects
  • Assist the Technical Writer, as needed, to ensure compliance with technical requirements
  • Execute process implementation and improvement as directed by the team’s People Leader
  • Share best practices across the team and with partners so that our proposal process and team continues to improve

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3 years of experience, preferably 5, in technical, proposal, or content-writing roles or with SaaS experience; government experience is a plus
  • Strong grammatical skills
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering and meeting conflicting deadlines without sacrificing quality of work
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively across internal and client teams
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, analytically and independently
  • Amazing time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects at the same time
  • Ability to learn quickly and on the fly, and then apply learnings to improve future work efforts
  • Can manage ambiguity with confidence
  • Comfort with change, and ability to be nimble/resourceful through change
  • Ability to make connections across business and marketplace
