Solutions Architect (Charlotte, US)


About You

As a Solutions Architect at Passport you will play an instrumental role in securing and launching enterprise client projects and will be the go-to technical and design resource for said projects. You will be engaged during the inception and planning for sales opportunities that are of high complexity, and will remain engaged throughout the lifecycle of the deal. This will include participation in all strategic planning activities, technical scoping and solution designing, and proposal development and review. You will lead the discussions in identifying the enterprise client’s business needs and mapping them to our solutions to provide the best possible outcome. You are attentive, detail oriented and a strong communicator who takes the reins in crafting solution designs and setting expectations early in the client’s lifecycle with Passport. You will work closely with clients and Passport’s Sales and Client Success teams defining solutions, preparing RFP responses, and presenting the capabilities of our platform within product demonstration meetings. Additionally, you will be the go to technical resource for the Delivery teams post sale for project support and guidance. The Solution Architect is accountable for the solution's technical compliance and conformance to the business and technical architectural direction for the sales opportunity. The Solution Architect will also work closely with Product Managers and Technical Delivery Managers to ensure visibility for the project’s requirements that may not be currently available.


  • Gather and analyze client requirements, evaluate options, and select and implement technologies that best suit the customer’s needs
  • Understand technical and functional design requirements at an expert level within the Passport platform
  • Prepare and deliver technical demonstrations, oral presentations and statements of work of the Passport product suite to enterprise clients
  • Educate the client in new and transformative ways to manage their daily requirements which they may be unaware of to date
  • Perform technical solution assessments to help identify operational, financial and contractual risks
  • Provide solution and technical alternatives and recommendations to overcome technical gaps and weaknesses
  • Work closely with Passport partners by defining partner commitments and responsibilities for projects when needed
  • Author narrative for complex areas of assigned proposals as required
  • Provide design and technical solutions for the Passport delivery teams to ensure a seamless implementation transition
  • Recommend additional products and/or features to the clients which will increase their operational efficiency, reduce costs, or provide a higher quality experience
  • Formulate the technical and business migration plan in preparation for project launch
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Service Delivery to ensure project requirements and commitments are scheduled for the project launch.
  • Provide support to delivery teams post contracting as the lead solution architect

You understand the overall importance of clear communication, emotional intelligence and its ability to successfully navigate a client’s expectations and outcomes. You think a few steps ahead of where you currently understand, defining a clear roadmap of where to go next for the initiative at hand.

You possess the ability to minimize distractions and maintain focus within in-depth conversations, extrapolating the details necessary to build the solution and design you’re ultimately responsible for. Clear, concise and constructive communications are a strong suit of yours and something you pride yourself on.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience within a design or solutions role
  • Solution oriented and problem solving mindset
  • 3+ years experience within a SaaS environment, 5 years experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in a sales enablement and/or solutions-oriented role
  • Previous experience defining and discerning key aspects of a problem and developing an integrated solution within a broad technical and business context
  • Ability to simplify the complex to ensure all participants are aligned and understood
  • Active listener with the ability to translate conversations into actionable details
  • Independent self-starter with the ability to perform work that is complex and varied, with latitude for independent judgment and minimal to no formal supervision
  • Ability to present to all levels of business and technical decision makers and have the technical capacity to discuss code/design with internal Engineering leads
  • Ability to represent and present, as required, the proposal solution overview in deal reviews
  • Strong cross-group collaboration ability to provide the customer with any needed technical information in order to progress the sale through the sales cycle
  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships and earn the respect and credibility with both technical and business leadership team members
  • Excellent business acumen combined with a deep understanding of Infrastructure technologies and a broad understanding of SaaS technologies and solutions

Willingness to travel 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in the parking and/or transportation industry
  • Preferred experience with and an understanding of state and local government contracting
