Human Resources Generalist (Charlotte, US)

Human Resources Generalist (Charlotte, US)

Job Description:

Are you a creative thinker? Do you live by the phrase that “everything is figureoutable”? Do you have what might be considered a “non-traditional” HR background? Are you the person your friend group calls when they have a question about relationship advice, how to repair a dishwasher, a challenging co-worker, or anything else under the sun? Do you consume information and use that knowledge to craft creative solutions that others don’t often see? If so, this just might be the role for you.

Passport’s HR leader is seeking a thought partner to support our hybrid workforce. Initiative, mission focus, and out-of-the-box thinking will serve well in this role. You’ll provide support to employees across the US and India as they work at the frontlines of Passport’s mission and objectives. You’ll find yourself working in the areas of company culture, recruiting, compensation and benefits, compliance, and office management. You’ll gain exposure to HR strategy, leadership development, employee engagement, and learning & development. And if you already have experience in those areas, that’s great!

One more thing… There are aspects of this job that will require in-office presence. We offer a great deal of flexibility; however, you’ll need to be in the office 2-3 days per week for this role.

A note from the HR leader:

I’ve been with Passport for nearly five years and have traversed many company changes during that time. I’m known to be an exceedingly transparent leader. You will know what I know. That level of context setting is the only way this works, and it allows you to quickly understand my philosophy and soon begin making autonomous decisions in support of our mission. For that reason, confidentiality is of supreme importance. And because of that, our team has a zero-tolerance work rule regarding confidentiality. In addition to that, I strongly value learning and believe that all learning brings value to the workplace. Whether you read books, listen to podcasts, take courses, etc., neither mode nor specific topic is important. Just learn and make connections. We’ll all be better for it. Lastly, you are first and foremost a human who has a life, relationships, and interests outside of work. While I need someone for this role who is dedicated, will work hard, and will devote time and energy to this role, I will support you to care for yourself and your family/friends/pets, etc. first. This is how I’ve always led, and it’s served me and my organizations well. All I ask is that we work together to communicate context, expectations, and drive toward outcomes.

One more thing… Why is this role open? I’m excited that a person who has been on my team for quite some time is ready for the next step in their career. I’d like to think I had some influence on their growth and development which prepared them for this new adventure. Now it’s time for me to work with you to plot out your future!
