S&B in Saarbrücken at the airport, in the city and near the university

The parking areas P1, P2 and P3 of the regional airport in Saarbrücken (Germany) are equipped with a barcode system by Scheidt & Bachmann. The data communication needed could be realized at low cost by using the existing cables and by integration of a WLAN communication (wireless data communication).
scheidt&bachmann.gifIn this modern network environment, it was possible to integrate also a digital intercom system, whereby the voice quality was improved and the cabling effort could be reduced.
Of course, any other payment options are available to the automatic pay stations. As system supplier, Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH has been responsible for the installation and assembly of the overall functions.

The airport in Saarbrücken is a turntable between the neighbour countries France and Luxemburg. With approximately 420,000 passengers in 2006, it is of great importance for the region. Business and holiday travellers both enjoy the location, the short distances and the high service standard of the airport.

Scheidt & Bachmann systems in Saarbrücken already represent the everyday street scenery. 10 car parks, equipped with the approved side-stripe system, are in online connection with the Q-Park control center, and via remote access with the management level in Berlin (Germany). Data communication is executed by internet as well as via DSL connections with an integrated VPN tunnel. The installation of the systems has been planned in close coordination with the operator, according to an exactly specified conversion schedule, within a period of 2 months at running operation.
For season parkers, the comfortable Nedap transponder card was introduced, which can be used by contactless remote operation, at the entries and exists of the car parks, i.e. the barrier is opened during approach without causing the driver to insert or have a card ready. The season parker card is fastened to the interior side of the windscreen.
A nearly natural feature is the integration of a bonus card. The energy supplier SaarLorLux has issued "The Blue" card as a customer loyalty system. Card owners in this way can receive an adequate bonus when paying their parking fee at an automatic pay station. Also here, a full integration of existing customer-own supplementary systems can be provided by the system flexibility of Scheidt & Bachmann products. The customer will enjoy it and the operator is satisfied by the exploitation of his facilities.

The University of Saarbrücken also relies on system solutions provided by Scheidt & Bachmann. A barcode system ensures a smooth process at the entries and exits of the main approach to the University campus as well as to the Science Park of the University. The personnel of the university use a multifunctional transponder card based on the Mifare technique, which has been integrated as a season parker card, exceeding the functions of time control and access control within the Scheidt & Bachmann system.
