Successful PABP Certification

Payment module used by Scheidt & Bachmann in their Car Park Management System has passed the Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) certification successfully.
In the past few years, theft of credit card data has increased severely. New procedural provisions were designed to minimize this risk and thereby improve security for the banks, points of acceptance and card users. These procedural specifications were summarized in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, briefly PCI-DSS. PCI-DSS is accepted worldwide!
The procedural provisions must be followed by all instances who memorize, process or transmit the credit card data.
Apart from the banks, especially the points of acceptance are instructed to implement the procedural provisions and ensure their compliance.
Points of acceptance are primarily the operators of car parks or leisure centers who permit payment by credit cards. The operators must pass a certification process that is performed by an authorized company. An important step for this certification is the use of a PABP-certified payment software. These Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) define a series of safety measures and precautions for software in payment transactions. A payment module used by Scheidt & Bachmann in their Car Park Management System has passed this certification successfully.
PABP will gain even more significance on an international scale. The PCI Security Standards Council has defined a new standard for software used in payment transactions. This standard is based on the Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) and is now called Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS).
