Education information
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe how individuals maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills so that they remain competent and up to date in their work. CPD is something that you control and it is entirely driven by your input alone. It’s a way of planning your development in a way that links what you learn to what you do.
It isn’t just about attending courses or gaining qualifications. You are likely to be regularly participating in learning activities which contribute towards your CPD without realising it. Everything that improves your knowledge and skills, whether through formal learning, attending meetings or even simply trying new tasks for the first time, is considered as CPD.
Why do CPD?
To be successful in your career you need to be up to date with the changing world of the parking sector. This includes maintaining, developing, and/or enhancing your knowledge, skills and competence, as well as developing your personal qualities.
CPD is an investment that you make in yourself, and it can help you keep your skills and knowledge up to date and prepare you for greater responsibilities. It can boost your confidence, strengthen your professional credibility and help you become more creative in tackling new challenges.
