Founded in 1887, Skanska Cementgjuteriet was responsible for building large areas of Sweden. Soon we were sending our project groups to the Third World to assist in infrastructure development. Over the years, our operations have become increasingly global and in 1984 we changed our name to Skanska to reflect this. At Skanska we focus on creating strong local operations - what we call domestic markets. We have adapted our various logotypes to reflect where we work and devised a variety of ways of presenting our subsidiaries locally.
