The Development Manager, as a direct employee of the Development Director and the operational leader of a development team, manages SW+HW product development projects and ensures the efficient operation of the team. The core element of the role is team leadership and coordinated management of parallel development projects.

Main tasks

  • Professional and operational management of the development team (20+ people)
  • Leading multiple integrated software and hardware development projects
  • Develop and track project plans, schedules, and milestones
  • Resource planning, setting priorities
  • Preparing project and status reports for the development director and senior management
  • Direct support to the Development Director in strategic and operational matters
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, partners
  • Fine-tuning development processes, making efficiency improvement suggestions

Expectations

  • Higher technical education
  • Experience in leading a development (or engineering) team of at least 20 people
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing complex IT and/or product development projects
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (MS Project, Jira)
  • Systems thinking and strong project management approach, as well as excellent problem-solving, conflict management and communication skills
  • At least intermediate, active (technical) English language skills

It is an advantage

  • PMP, IPMA or PRINCE2 certification
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience in IT or SW+HW product development environment
  • Knowledge of OKR or other objective management methodology
  • Experience gained in a multinational environment
