Managed Services Network Administrator (Roseville, US)

We are seeking an individual to design and support on premise networks that are utilized with our AWS cloud solution for use with parking systems throughout North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and deployment of the solution to be used on premise. This person will also serve as the point of escalation for the managed network. Additionally, this role will include the responsibility of ensuring network security and connectivity.

This position reports to the Director of Customer Support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of a centrally managed network service with management’s agreement on the solution being proposed and delivered.
  • Creates and maintains procedures for monitoring the centrally managed networks and the sending of alerts along with the required responses.
  • Creates network diagrams for new and existing deployments for the local and central support teams to use.
  • Trains local branch technicians in site surveys, wire pulls, and network equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Leads network equipment deployment, setup, initialization, and stabilization.
  • Maintains excellent communication with direct management and the Branch/Site Owner/Operator on all tasks and projects.
  • Performs on-site and remote technical support.
  • Travels as required.
  • Assists in the organization and inventory of all network resources.
  • Creates and maintains good technical documentation as needed to train team members and parking site operators on new or modified solutions.
  • Acts as a point of escalation for after-hours and on-call support.
  • Performs service audits to identify inefficiencies, provide recommendations, and to implement efficiencies to minimize parking site operational disruptions.
  • Assists with project management, research, and maintaining service levels.
  • Manages and coordinates urgent and complicated support issues related to the configuration of site’s local network/firewall. Advises management on situations that may require additional client support or escalation.
  • Keeps abreast of current technologies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience Preferred

  • Firewall Experience: installing, configuring, and supporting.
  • Network Switching Experience: installing, configuring, and supporting managed switches with vLANs and routing.
  • A 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Advanced industry certification such as compTIA Network+ Certification or industry specific technologies.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
  • Experience with servers, server operating systems, and networking.
  • Outstanding proven customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
