Are you an experienced accounting profile with strong management skills and a keen eye for quality, structure and process optimization? At APCOA, we are looking for an experienced Head of Accounting, who will have overall responsibility for the accounting function and for ensuring a solid, uniform and timely financial foundation for our Danish business.

You will play a central role in our finance department and will be responsible for both management, professional quality and the daily operation of the accounting area. Your workplace will be at our head office in Vejle, and you will report to the Nordic Finance Director. The role combines clear management responsibility with continued hands-on responsibility and close involvement in central accounting processes.

Your responsibilities will include, among others:

Management and organization

  • Personnel and professional responsibility for the accounting team
  • Ensuring clear areas of responsibility, workflows and priorities
  • Ongoing skills development and sparring with the team

Accounting and closing

  • Overall responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual closing
  • Quality assurance of accounting, accruals, reconciliations and financial figures
  • Ensuring compliance with deadlines and accounting standards

Process optimization and internal control

  • Systematic work on process optimization and standardization of accounting processes
  • Further development and maintenance of internal controls
  • Close collaboration with Finance and other business areas on efficient workflows

Reporting, compliance and auditing

  • Responsibility for reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Overall responsibility for VAT, reconciliations and accounting compliance
  • Main contact for auditor and responsible for audit preparation and execution

In short: You will have overall responsibility for the accounting function in Denmark and will be a key person in ensuring high quality, structure and progress in Finance.

Who are you?

We imagine that you are an experienced accounting manager with a strong professional foundation and a natural authority in both management and accounting issues. You work structured and systematically with process optimization and quality, and you thrive in a role where you both have overall responsibility and are close to operations. You take ownership, work hands-on and focus on creating stable, efficient and transparent accounting processes.

You have a minimum of 5 years of experience from a similar level, e.g. as a Head of Accounting or Accounting Manager, and you have documented management experience with personnel responsibility. Your background may be from the accounting industry or from a similar position in a larger or complex organization.

Educationally, you have a relevant financial education, e.g. HD(R), cand.merc.aud. or equivalent, combined with solid practical experience in accounting, closing, internal controls and collaboration with auditors.

As a person, you are analytical, quality-conscious and collaboration-oriented. You communicate clearly and professionally, have a good understanding of systems and work confidently in Excel. At the same time, you are comfortable with English in both writing and speaking and naturally participate in collaboration across the organization - also in a Nordic and international set-up.
