What are you going to do?

You'll design and optimize scalable data pipelines that transform raw information into immediate intelligence, enabling today's reliable BI reporting and future-proof applications like AI-driven analytics.

You won't do this alone. Together with architects and stakeholders, you'll ensure best practices in architecture, governance, and performance. At the same time, your curiosity and creativity will allow you to experiment with new technologies. Bold ideas aren't just welcome here; they're expected.

Example project

Imagine a project where we build a unified data platform at Nedap that empowers employees to discover insights for themselves. Using data agents , colleagues can ask questions in plain language, like "What is our revenue trend per customer?" or "How many subscriptions were canceled last month?" and receive reliable answers instantly.

This allows people to experiment with ideas without technical barriers, make decisions faster, and explore new opportunities. While current reporting and processes remain supported, we bring innovation directly into the hands of users.

Your responsibilities

  • Designing and optimizing data pipelines for structured and unstructured sources;
  • Applying modern data architecture patterns (such as medallion) and governance standards;
  • Collaborate with your team on platform and tool choices;
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity and performance at all levels of the platform;
  • Thinking ahead about future applications, such as AI agents and conversational BI;
  • Experimenting with the latest features in Microsoft Fabric and translating these into practical solutions;
  • Share your expertise with colleagues and thus increase the maturity and impact of the entire team;
  • Balancing innovation and stability: ensuring the platform supports both new and existing needs.

Required experiences and skills

You're naturally curious and enjoy exploring new technologies. With a proactive and hands-on mentality, you embrace challenges head-on and translate ideas into concrete results. You're eager to learn, see opportunities to continuously improve yourself and your team, and believe it's important to make an impact with your work.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in similar projects;
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL and Spark;
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse or Databricks;
  • Knowledge of data modeling and layered architecture;
  • Ability to implement best practices in CI/CD, automation and governance;
  • Curiosity to explore AI and MCP as new ways of working with data.
