Parkopedia was founded with the mission of being able to answer any parking question, anywhere in the world. Today, Parkopedia is the world’s leading digital parking services provider used by millions of drivers and organisations such as Apple, TomTom and 18 automotive brands ranging from Audi to Volkswagen.

We are looking for Platform Engineers to help to create a new platform which will modernise and unify the company’s software and data services.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and deploying infrastructure and software components using infrastructure as code (AWS CDK)
  • Champion and help implement principle of least privilege
  • Assist in cost analysis and optimisation of the platform
  • Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Working with, reviewing and giving recommendations for architecture to application teams
  • Assist transition to microservice architecture as well as developing monitoring and alerting for services
  • Ensuring near 100% uptime for all customer facing services
  • Championing engineering best practices, including mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience or a PhD in a relevant subject
  • Extensive experience with running highly available production services in AWS
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, CDK is preferred
  • Strong computer science background
  • Experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker), and container orchestration (e.g. k8s, ECS)
  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting
  • Experience writing CI/CD pipelines and ideally working with writing deploy scripts
  • Significant contribution in the design and development of a platform, ideally within a small to medium sized company
  • Good programming skills in a general purpose language, ideally Python
  • Experience with database administration, especially MySQL and Postgres / PostGIS

Additional nice to have skills:

  • Experience with Ansible
  • Python API development experience, especially asynchronous frameworks like FastAPI
  • AWS certifications
