Business Development Coordinator (Vancouver, CA)


We're seeking a Business Development Coordinator to join us!

The Business Development Coordinator works at the top of the North American sales funnel to qualify inbound leads before they are distributed to sales directors, as well as generate meetings and opportunities from outbound campaigns. They are responsible for nurturing small business opportunities until close [i.e. MIB and Validations].They are the point person for putting together reports and dashboards for the Commercial Team when needed. They are responsible for building programs to assist the Client Management team in upselling current and future products, as well as working with Marketing to create outreach campaigns to elicit interest. They are also responsible for assisting with bids and proposals within the guidelines provided to ensure PayByPhone is well positioned to win the opportunity.


  • Qualify inbound sales inquiries to determine next steps and resources
  • Schedule meetings and hand-off qualified prospects to appropriate sales team members
  • When appropriate, retain prospect and work to close win business [MIB]
  • When appropriate, nurture opportunities in “fly over” market, to close
  • Sell some stand alone products to new markets [i.e. Validations]
  • Create targeting prospecting campaigns by reaching out by phone and email
  • Document and maintain prospect status, data integrity, and records of interactions in Salesforce
  • Manage national purchasing contracts such as NCPA
  • Partner with Sales Directors to develop strategies to target prospects
  • Partner with Client Success to develop strategies to target existing clients
  • Put together reports and dashboards that visualise the activity of the Commercial team
  • Report monthly on KPIs regarding the pipeline, both new business and existing business
  • Support the Company’s bid process from identification to submission and pre-award negotiations
  • Analyse bid requirements
  • Comfortable learning and using software tools such as MS Office, SalesForce, and RFPio.
  • Write and edit proposals for readability, consistency, and appropriate tone, describing company capabilities, sector knowledge, management approach, and/or past performance
  • Provide support in putting together exceptional bids that clearly demonstrate product benefits, and accurately respond to all elements to meet or exceed the bid requirements within the stipulated time frames
  • Track bid responses and evaluations of bid responses in activity log
  • Obtain approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers.Support developing effective processes, assets, and resources for successful bid submissions
  • Participate in bid/no bid reviews with the sales team and maintain an activity log. Conduct win/loss reviews
  • Work with VP Operations to continuously improve the lead generation process and commercial team reports
  • Manage/administer Commercial Team Confluence pages, excluding Implementation
  • Commercial Team special projects as assigned by VP, Operations (North America)

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in sales, marketing, account management or customer service
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Experience in gathering information accurately and quickly from multiple sources
  • Experience with daily high-volume of outbound calling and emailing activities
  • Experience in similar software development environment would be highly regarded
  • Experience in generating Salesforce reports is an asset
  • Proven ability to learn new software programs and able to learn quickly
  • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Google research skills
  • Prior experience using Salesforce or other CRM
