Robotics Control Engineer (Paris, FR)
Job description
We are looking for an expert with a PhD or an engineering degree with a strong applied background in control theory and in particular in real-time Model-Predictive Control .
Your Scientific and Technical Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Robot Engineering, you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Navigation (Path Tracking):
- Identify and characterize the control needs (trajectory tracking accuracy, disturbance rejection, etc.).
- Develop and validate advanced control algorithms, with concrete experience in implementing Model-Predictive Control approaches (ideally Nonlinear MPC), in a real-time context.
- State Estimation and Sensor Fusion (Localization & Filtering):
- Design and refine observation and prediction models to ensure robust localization in dynamic outdoor environments.
- Mastering the implementation of Extended Kalman Filters (EKF) to handle the non-linearity of models and the diversity of sensors (GNSS, IMU …).
Desired profile
You will not be integrating existing libraries. You will be developing the intellectual property that defines the performance of our robots. This requires, among other things, knowledge of the dynamics and constraints of non-holonomic vehicles.
Desired profile
Your Profile: Between Research and Industry
- Education: PhD or engineering degree in Robotics / Automation.
- Expertise: Proficiency in dynamic systems modeling and control law synthesis. Practical experience in deploying Nonlinear MPC is required, ideally in the physical world and not just in simulation :)
- Software: Good level of C++ required. Knowledge of ROS is also a prerequisite. Knowledge of SLAM would be an asset.
- Mindset: You know how to navigate between the rigor of a scientific publication and the efficiency of an industrial deployment.
- Experience: 3 years preferred
- Fluent English
Interview Procedure
- phone screening: 20-30 min
- Technical test: 60 min
- immersion day
- ref call
