Job Overview:

The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our finance department. This position handles essential transactional tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, expense processing, and data entry. The ideal candidate is highly organised, possesses excellent attention to detail, and enjoys working with numbers in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process, verify, and reconcile invoices and check requests.
  • Prepare and perform weekly/monthly payment runs and electronic transfers.
  • Issue invoices to customers and follow up on outstanding receivables (collections).
  • Monitor customer accounts for non-payment, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Assist in cashflow reporting and maintaining bank levels.
  • Perform routine bank reconciliations to ensure general ledger accuracy.
  • Maintain digital filing systems for easy audit retrieval.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external queries regarding invoices and payments.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller in transformational projects where required.

Skills & Competencies (Required)

  • Numerical Accuracy: Exceptional data entry skills with a proven track record of high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Software Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data sorting, formatting) and familiarity with standard office software.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and handling external vendor queries.
  • Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise deadlines, and keep financial records highly organised.

Skills & Competencies (Desired):

  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or entry-level finance/accounting role.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, Freeagent) and other adjacent systems (e.g. ExpenseIn, Pleo)
