Policeman jailed for parking fine dodge
A Welsh policeman, who four years ago won a bravery commendation for saving two teenagers from a fire, has been jailed after trying to clear all trace of a neighbour's L30 parking fine
More than a year later senior officers were searching Taylor's house on an unrelated matter and discovered both parts of the ticket. Both Taylor, 36, and Lucas, 58, denied perverting the course of justice but were found guilty in Cardiff Crown Court in December. Lucas received a 12-month conditional discharge whilst Lucas was jailed for three months and will lose his career in the police force as a result of his actions. Judge Christopher Llewellyn-Jones, QC, commented: "This was an act of misguided generosity."
