Portland International Airport to expand airport parking

The spaces will serve all aspects of airport activities, including the cargo terminal, passenger terminal and Portland International Center. About 4,000 of the new spaces will be for passenger parking, with the rest going for new commercial/industrial facilities that will be built on port property surrounding the airport.

The parking additions are expected to accommodate airport growth through the year 2013.

The port has applied to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for an air quality permit that would allow for slight increases in carbon monoxide emissions associated with new parking facilities.
