Abu Dhabi Introduces Stricter Rules for Valet Parking Services

Abu Dhabi

New regulations are now in effect for valet parking services across Abu Dhabi, following an announcement by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport. As of June 24, 2025, all valet parking operations must be officially licensed by the ITC.

The move is part of a broader effort to raise service standards, enhance safety, and ensure accountability in the valet parking sector. Businesses offering valet services—including hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and event venues—must now verify that their valet partners possess a valid licence issued by the ITC.

Licensing Requirements and Inspections

According to the new directive, operating valet services without the appropriate permit is a regulatory violation and may result in penalties. To enforce compliance, ITC inspectors are actively conducting field visits to check that all service providers meet the new licensing conditions.

This initiative also aims to safeguard public trust by improving transparency. Licensed valet providers are expected to adhere to specific service guidelines, including proper handling of vehicles, insurance coverage, and customer service protocols.

Impact on Businesses and the Public

Establishments that use third-party valet companies are now responsible for ensuring their chosen operators meet all licensing requirements. The ITC advises businesses to work only with accredited valet service providers to avoid disruptions or fines.

For the public, this change is intended to provide peace of mind when handing over their vehicles. Customers are encouraged to look for proof of licensing—usually displayed clearly at the valet stand—and to report any concerns about unlicensed or unsafe operations.

Public Engagement Encouraged

To support this regulatory shift, the ITC has also opened communication channels for the public to report violations or service issues. This collaborative approach is designed to create a safer and more reliable valet experience for residents and visitors alike.
