APCOA Starts Cooperation With EasyPark

On the Way to 100% Contactless Parking in Apcoa Garages

Parking Garage Barriers Automatically Opens When You Enter and Leave, Payment Is Done via the App Afterwards.

APCOA has started a pilot with EasyPark at its parking garage Westblaak in Rotterdam. For EasyPark users, the barrier automatically opens when you enter and leave, payment is done via the app afterwards. EasyPark customers can easily activate license plate recognition via the EasyPark app.

APCOA operates and manages approximately 120 parking facilities in the Netherlands. The ultimate goal of the pilot is that visitors at all these locations can use automatic license plate recognition via the EasyPark app. ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) ensures that the barrier opens automatically upon arrival and departure. As soon as the vehicle registration is recognized and links to the app, the barrier opens automatically. The parking transaction also stops automatically when leaving the garage or the site, after which the payment will be made via the app.

Michael Stark, Country Director EasyPark Netherlands: “We want to make parking in garages as easy as on the street. ”With 3 million users of the EasyPark app in the Netherlands, it is clear that the Dutch are used to paying for parking through an app instead of a payment terminal. “By focusing on parking in garages, we help to stimulate the efficient and attractive use of the public space and we create better accessibility of the city.

The mission of EasyPark to make cities more livable is in line with the future vision of APCOA. Carlo Barten, Managing Director APCOA Netherlands: “APCOA has been strongly committed to digitization for several years to make access to and parking at barrier locations as easy and accessible as possible. Automated access and payment settlement are important components to realize parking convenience for our customers. Through this collaboration we get access to the many users of the Easypark app who can benefit from these benefits. This makes garage parking an accessible alternative to street parking and we contribute to making the public space car-creating.
