APCOA: A New Parking Area Opens at the ‘Karol Wojtyla’ Airport

A new 611-space parking lot. The new passenger parking area opened this morning at Karol Wojtyla Airport, meeting the ever-increasing demand generated by increased air traffic.

The new facility, spread over two levels, offers 312 covered parking spaces on the ground floor and 299 on the first floor, with weekly rates starting at €6 per day. Each space has standard dimensions of 5 x 2.5 meters, with large spaces designed to ensure easy access and maneuverability.

Management of the new infrastructure has been entrusted to APCOA, a global leader in the sector, which implemented the project following the technical guidelines of the AdP Engineering team. The modern and functional structure is based on a system of load-bearing steel beams, entirely modular and removable: a design solution that, in addition to ensuring rapid construction, will also allow for future expansions based on evolving demand and the airport's development.

"Today," said APCOA CEO Andrea Grassi, "our thoughts go to our longtime CEO, Arturo Benigna, who passed away just under a month ago and who spearheaded this project. We're talking about a facility with more than 600 new low-cost parking spaces, bringing the total low-cost parking capacity to approximately 1,000. This represents more than a third of the airport's parking spaces dedicated to low-cost users.

Furthermore, thanks to the 300 covered parking spaces, we also offer a quality service at a low-cost price, because a car in the shade is a significant benefit. This project is part of a much broader plan worth approximately €8 million, which is precisely the subject of the project financing in which we partner with Aeroporti di Puglia. A parking lot that years ago might have seemed far from the airport is now brought closer to the terminal through the covered walkway, adding a quality service that wasn't there before."

The construction of the new parking lot is part of a broader infrastructure development program promoted by Aeroporti di Puglia, aimed at supporting traffic growth through investments that enhance the quality of hospitality, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
