APCOA Starts Operations at the Gropius Passages and Installs FreeFlow Systems for Efficient Parking
Since 1 February 2026, APCOA has been operating three parking properties in Berlin-Neukölln with a total of around 1,800 parking spaces. The facilities on Johannisthaler Chaussee are part of the Gropius Passagen, a highly frequented shopping centre with a total area of around 90,000 square metres and around 150 shops. It is one of the largest shopping centers in Germany.
To simplify the parking process and reduce waiting times, the properties will be converted to digital parking solutions with FreeFlow technology in April. Barriers and tickets are eliminated and entry and exit is carried out by means of automatic license plate recognition.
The FreeFlow system enables a paperless parking process and a continuous flow of traffic in the parking garage. Users have three options for payment: digitally via the APCOA FLOW app, on site at the pay station or subsequently online via Scanpay.
With the implementation of the FreeFlow facilities, APCOA is further investing in the optimization of parking infrastructure at highly frequented business centers.
