Automatic Systems France installs security systems for motorway parking

Automatic Systems France guarantees the security for trucks at the Vemars parking area on the A1 Motorway 50kms from Paris. In this area, thefts from heavy commercial vehicles has increased by 90% between 1998 and 2003.
SANEF, the French motorway operator, has deployed the system from Automatic Systems France. Organised crime gangs are specifically targeting vehicles carrying audio and video equipment, designer clothes, fine wines, and cosmetic products.

ASF’s solution to safeguarding the 156 truck parking spaces has seen the deployment of a combination of high security fencing and rising barriers at strategic entry and exit checkpoints, to create a completely hermetic area only authorised to holders of CAPLIS card (an inter-company subscription card designed for heavy lorries held by 80% of drivers). Pedestrian access is through a TRS 360 new generation full-height turnstiles which allows drivers to safely enter and exit the secured area. The entire compound is monitored by an array of video surveillance cameras, monitored from a remote control and assistance centre several hundred kilometres away.
