With the increase in demand for electric car services such as charging stations, parking operators are looking for ways to ensure their customers can take advantage of these services.

Banner Engineering’s R-GAGE Radar sensor manages parking time and prevents non-permitted vehicles from parking at these stations. The sensor identifies unauthorized vehicles and alerts officers of their presence, allowing for real-time enforcement and monitoring.

Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar sensor reliably detects moving or stationary objects. Featuring a 45 by 45 degree beam pattern, the R-GAGE is ideal for monitoring a specific area, like a parking place, without detecting adjacent objects.

The R-GAGE detects objects up to a specified distance, ignoring objects beyond the set point to ensure reliable detection of vehicles. The sensor can be embedded in a charging station, preventing vandalism and reducing time and labor required for installation. Unlike other sensor technologies, it is not affected by environmental conditions such as wind, rain, fog, light, humidity and air temperature. This results in accurate detection in challenging outdoor environments.
