Berry Systems launch new safety
Berry Systems are using the parkex exhibition at Earl's Court to launch their new Berry Brisafe safety barrier.
This perimeter edge protection system is claimed to be ideal for new build car parks as it is fixed to the structural supports and creates a visually attractive barrier that combines an independently tested safety performance with architectural flexibility to enhance the appearance of the whole structure.
Unlike traditional vehicle barriers, the Berry Brisafe system can be supplied in any RAL colour and the combined in-fill can even include custom designs and logos there by providing innovative
opportunities for designers to create unique themes and to integrate identities between car parks and the facilities
they serve.
Berry Systems Marketing Manager, Simon Bradbury,
said: "We can now offer the new build market a perimeter edge safety barrier th at requires no anchorage into the car park deck, has a zero bay footprint and an integrated anti-climb system. On top of all this the barrier is re-usable after an impact and allows a very fast, simple and cost effective single panel
replacement when necessary."
The Berry Brisafe system is based on three lengths of wire
rope anchored under tension to the car park structure. These ropes are then fitted with in-fill panels which can be colour co-ordinated to almost any specification. Following an impact, the damaged in-fill panel can be swiftly removed and replaced. The wire rope elements are fully re-usable
Recent tests at MJRA showed that the system met the requirements of BS 6399 and also met recent Jnstitute of Civil Engineers, Jnstitution of Structural Engineers and ODPM recommendations relevant to perimeter barriers for vehicle and pedestrian protection.
Berry's MD, Jan Darlington, is confident this new system
