Bourne Parking Ltd. handed over the ground floor of a new car park at Portsmouth Continental Ferry Port
Poole-based car park contractor, Bourne Parking Ltd, handed over the ground floor of a new L2.5 million five storey car park at Portsmouth Continental Ferry Port, Hampshire on 11 July 2003 to Mr Phil Gadd the Ferry Port Manager and Mr David Clubb, Engineering Manager of Portsmouth City Council. Work started on site in February and completion of the whole facility is due at the beginning of August 2003. To commemorate this event, Bourne Parking held a barbecue on the top deck, attended by officials from Portsmouth City Council, the Port and specialist sub contractors who have worked on the project.
Ferry Port manager, Phil Gadd said: “While many of our customers prefer to take their cars with them, the option of travelling as a foot passenger is still popular - particularly during the spring and autumn months when people are heading off on shorter, mini breaks.
“We are continually working to ensure we can provide first class facilities and the new car park has been developed in direct response to customer demand. It is well lit, accessible 24 hours a day and incorporates the latest automated car parking technology.”
