Central Parking System becomes corporate supporter of Living Streets

Central Parking System is the first company from the parking industry to become a corporate supporter of Living Streets, a UK-wide organisation promoting better streets and public spaces for people on foot.
Tom Franklin, Living Streets Chief Executive said, I am delighted to welcome Central Parking System as a corporate supporter. Living Streets is working to create streets that are people-friendly, where people can walk safely and easily. Enforcement of on-street parking regulations is an important piece of the jigsaw and, in our experience, it is something that people want to see tackled.
Central Parking Systems Andrew Marshall, Managing Director Parking Services added Parking enforcement is all about keeping traffic flowing, encouraging cars to park in designated areas and ultimately to keep streets safer for pedestrians; we are pleased to be associated with Living Streets and support their aims and objectives. We have many common interests as the majority of our staff spend their working day on our streets. Their activities contribute to the quality of the environment and our staff are valuable eyes and ears in the community. The local environment is, of course, a key issue for our local authority clients and by working together with our clients and Living Streets we will be able to add value to our services through participating in joint initiatives and putting the primary role of parking enforcement in a broader context.
Set up in 1929 (as the Pedestrians Association) Living Streets work includes campaigning (such as the Walk to School Campaign), and helping communities to make their streets safer, cleaner and more pleasant for walking.
