ChargePoint and Optimus Expand EV Charging Partnership Across Southeast US

More than 200 public charging ports will be deployed at retail and quick-service restaurant locations

ChargePoint is expanding its collaboration with charge point operator Optimus Energy Solutions through a new deployment of more than 200 public EV charging ports across the southeastern United States.

Under the expanded agreement, ChargePoint will act as the exclusive technology and services provider for the rollout. The company will supply the charging equipment, network software and associated support services, while Optimus Energy Solutions will own and operate the charging locations.

The partners plan to concentrate the new infrastructure in areas experiencing strong demand for public charging. Many of the installations will be placed at quick-service restaurants and retail destinations, enabling drivers to charge while accessing food, shopping and other amenities.

The expansion builds on an existing relationship between the companies and supports Optimus Energy Solutions’ strategy of developing and operating a larger regional charging network. ChargePoint’s technology platform will provide the infrastructure required to manage the stations and support their day-to-day operation.

Optimus Energy Solutions, which is based in Central Florida, develops and maintains charging infrastructure across the southeastern US. The company has emphasized long-term ownership, maintenance and charger availability as it grows its portfolio.

The latest deployment is intended to improve charging access in a region where infrastructure development has not always kept pace with the growing number of electric vehicles. By combining ChargePoint’s charging technology with Optimus’ ownership and operational capabilities, the companies aim to establish a more extensive and reliable network for EV drivers throughout the region.
