ChargeZone Acquires Zerovolt's Wadala EV Charging Hub
Charge point operator ChargeZone has finalized the acquisition of Zerovolt’s flagship charging facility in Wadala, Mumbai. The transaction was completed as an all-cash deal, though financial details were not disclosed.
Launched three years ago by Harshdeep Singh Virk and Priyesh Joshi, Zerovolt has positioned itself as a specialist in electrifying passenger buses and commercial fleets. The company has supported operators such as Chalo Mobility and has been instrumental in enabling sustainable public transport initiatives.
Commenting on the move, Virk noted that the acquisition validates Zerovolt’s early vision while opening the door to building a comprehensive electric mobility platform for heavy commercial vehicles. Joshi added that the partnership would allow the company’s mission of electrifying large-scale fleet operations to scale more effectively.
ChargeZone, which counts Shell Ventures, BlueOrchard Finance, and British International Investment among its backers, sees the deal as a major step in strengthening India’s EV infrastructure. Founder and CEO Kartikey Hariyani emphasized that the electrification of heavy commercial vehicles represents a critical tipping point for the country’s clean mobility transition.
Meanwhile, Zerovolt has announced plans to invest over INR 250 crores within the next two years, focusing on accelerating electrification in transport and logistics — industries that remain among the most fuel-dependent and carbon-intensive in India.
