CIRCONTROL: New Laboratory Certified According to IECEE CB-Scheme’s CTF

Circontrol Obtains the Stage 2 of the Program That Allows to Internally Test Its Chargers in Product Certification Process.

New Laboratory Certified According to IECEE CB-Scheme’s CTF

Circontrol continues its commitment to innovation and achieves a new stage in the development and manufacture of electric vehicles (EV) chargers by obtaining the Certificate of Acceptance of CTF (Customer Testing Facility) Stage 2 of its Laboratory in the IECEE CB-Scheme’s program.

In-House Test

Thanks to this, Circontrol will be able to test all its chargers under the international standard IEC 61851-1 in its own facilities and obtain the corresponding third-party certificate issued by its NCB (National Certification Body); SGS CEBEC. Thus, it is guaranteed that all its designs comply with the International Standards applicable to them, as well as the national specifications of each country.

The CB Scheme is the most prestigious certificate system worldwide, recognised by all the member countries. An NCB certificate is the best passport to start selling a product in any country.

In addition to the certification as CTF, Circontrol achieves the double recognition of the international certification body SGS, which also certifies Circontrol’s testing laboratory for the IEC 61851-23 and IEC 61851-24 standards.

Increased production agility

We are seeing how the standards for electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and encryption of communications are increasing in recent times, so having a laboratory that allows products to be tested locally during their development helps to significantly reduce the time to market while increasing flexibility when validating changes in products and in the regulations that apply to them.

For years, Circontrol has been investing lots of efforts in its testing laboratory and now the company has taken a definitive step forward with the acceptance certificate in the Customer Testing Facility programme. Along that way, it has been necessary to organise itself (ISO 17025) and have the equipment to carry out all the tests: climatic rooms, dust rooms, IPs rooms, electrical safety equipment, EMC, mechanical tests, loads or vehicle testers, among others. It also had to adapt its facilities and provide the necessary training for its technical staff, so that the international body IECEE could finally approve its inclusion in the CB Scheme.

eVolve Smart, the first to be certified in-house

So, from now on, Circontrol will be able to test and certify its products in its laboratory, without the need to go to external laboratories, also guaranteeing compliance with all national, European and international standards, while establishing a reliable, robust and audited process for the benefit of the development of all its products. The first equipment to be certified internally following the laboratory’s new accreditation scheme will be the renewed eVolve Smart post, launched last November with important improvements to its communications, payment and security systems. This charging station will be followed by the company’s other products in 2024.
