A new record: ComREC brings perfect audio recording to the Intercom Control Desk

Comrec Intercom Audio toolset by Commend

In many application environments such as high-security areas or call centres, the ability to record an Intercom call is just as important as making it. This is why Commend has added yet another powerful building block to its Intercom Audio toolset: fully scalable audio recording with its new ComREC application.

Running within the proven Commend ComWIN software environment, the new ComREC software package adds an instant, fully scalable ‘audio recording studio’ option to any Control Desk environment.

Record ease of use

ComREC operates on a client-server basis to allow for full central recording management in networked systems.

It presents the user with a clean, sleek user interface that comes with a very easy-to-use recording and playback panel, a list of existing recordings showing all relevant details, and options for filtering the recordings based on time and other criteria.

Playback can be started at the click of a button, cropped as needed and exported in a standard format also including meta-data. This feature set makes ComREC ideal for evidence-keeping and quality-of-service monitoring purposes in environments ranging from prisons and high-security areas to call centers.

Fully integratedComREC software package

As a purely software-based solution, ComREC is designed to continue where the existing hardware-based VoIPREC solution leaves off. “After the introduction of our software-based Intercom server, this was a logical next step,” says Product Manager Christian Schöpp. “ComREC bridges the gap by bringing powerful audio recording and playback capabilities to both hardware-based and software-based server environments.” ComREC can be used to record any Intercom audio signal within the connected Intercom solution environment.

A special highlight of the ComREC solution is its scalability. It breaks the 8-channel limit of the previous hardware solution that relied on plug-in cards. As a result, ComREC is ready to grow with operators’ requirements up to 100 recording channels without the need to re-stack the hardware cards.

Commend’s Audio Recording Solutions are already proving successful in real-life applications from jails to banks and a river navigation lock.

In many Intercom using professional environments, the ability to record live audio streams is a must. ComREC is there to say, “Now you can.”
