CPA parkade goes green with electric vehicle charging stations

- Calgary, Canada

The Calgary Parking Authority (CPA) has installed two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Civic Plaza Parkade, located at 322 – 9 Ave SW. One EV charging station is designated for public use and the other is for City of Calgary Green Fleet use.

The public EV charging station is complimentary for customers with a paid parking session and is located on level P1 in the three hour short stay area (ParkPlus zone 9236).

“The CPA is continually looking at how to offer additional services to our customers,” said General Manager Troy McLeod. “By providing EV charging stations, we’re also supporting sustainable transportation options.”

Customers who wish to use the public EV charging station simply need to park in the EV stall, remove the charge connector from the holster and plug it into their vehicle’s port. Detailed instructions are also posted next to the charging station. The EV charging stations use Sun Country Highway CS-90 units that can half or fully charge a battery in three hours.
Customers requiring assistance with the charging station can contact CPA’s Security Services at 403-537-7006.
