Danish State Completes Acquisition of Copenhagen Airports A/S
The Danish State has officially completed its acquisition of Copenhagen Airports A/S, following approval from the European Commission.
On 16 July 2025, the Commission granted clearance for the State to acquire a controlling stake in the operator. With all regulatory conditions met, the deal was closed on 30 September 2025.
Through the Ministry of Finance, the Danish State now owns approximately 98.6% of Copenhagen Airports A/S, with the remaining shares held by private minority investors.
“We are pleased to have secured an ownership model that ensures Denmark maintains a strong international airport, playing a vital role in global connectivity. As one of the country’s largest workplaces, it is essential to have a responsible, long-term ownership structure that guarantees the airport’s continued positive contribution to the Danish economy,” said Lars Nørby Johansen, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Copenhagen Airports A/S.
The company has also confirmed plans to hold an extraordinary general meeting soon to elect new board members.
