Dennis Burns, CAPP and David Hill, CAPP Receive International Parking Institute's 2010 Parking Professionals of the Year Awards
The International Parking Institute (IPI) 2010 Parking Professionals of the Year are Dennis Burns, CAPP, of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., Phoenix, Ariz. and David Hill, CAPP, of the Winnipeg Parking Authority, Manitoba, Canada. The recognition took place at the 2010 International Parking Institute Conference & Expo in Las Vegas in May.
"In honoring Dennis Burns and David Hill, we are honoring two of our most well-respected and dedicated parking professionals," said Shawn Conrad, CAE, Executive Director of the International Parking Institute.
Burns, Senior Practice Builder/Regional Vice President with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., is a nationally known expert in parking master planning and operations consulting. Burns was praised for his dedication to promoting the parking profession through his leadership and volunteer work with IPI, the largest association of the parking industry. A mentor to many, Burns is an advocate for the profession and is considered a thought leader on parking-related issues, often speaking on emerging trends in parking, transportation planning and technology.
Hill, Chief Operating Officer of the Winnipeg Parking Authority is credited with building the organization from the ground up through improved payment methods and options, attention to customer service, structural upgrades and the establishment of the "Parking Store." In working closely with city leaders, Hill enhanced the image and culture of parking in Winnipeg. Hill, a 20-year veteran of the parking profession, specializes in large scale parking operations and technologies and has won national and international awards for excellence. Hill currently serves as the Director of the Canadian Parking Association and is a Board member of the International Parking Institute.
