Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport Launches Fully Ticketless Parking With Designa

Terminal 3 opened on April 23rd – and with it, a fundamental shift in how parking operates at one of the largest airports in the world.

We’ve been part of Fraport AG since Terminal 1 and 2.

But Terminal 3 is a different level.

For the first time at Fraport, parking at the Terminal 3 curbside areas runs fully ticketless.
License plate recognition handles entry and exit.

Less hardware.
Less operational overhead.
Higher throughput.

This is the first global deployment of our latest Connect double-deck terminals.

And for the first time at Fraport:

• Integrated Survision LPR cameras
• Display screens at every lane
• Digital locking systems across all units
• Pay-by-plate and PayMobile.

And the real challenge:

All of this was integrated into an existing server infrastructure – in under three months.

That’s:

• 10 cashless terminals
• 8 cash & card units
• 11 entry and exit terminals
• 13 double-deck terminals
• 36 barriers

Across arrival, departure, VIP, public buses, Uber, and taxi zones.

When it comes to parking operations Frankfurt Airport sets the bar. Terminal 3 raises it.
