Disneyland Resort Reveals Expansion Plans Including New Parking and Transportation Hub

Disney has announced new details regarding future developments at Disneyland Resort, with a major focus on enhancing access and infrastructure. Among the updates are plans for a large-scale parking facility and transportation center, as well as designated areas for new themed experiences inspired by Coco and Avatar.
New Eastside Parking Structure and Transportation Center
Set to begin construction in fall 2026, Disneyland Resort will launch a significant infrastructure upgrade on the resort's east side. This development will take place on part of the existing Manchester parking lot currently used by cast members. Key features of the project include:
- Approximately 6,000 new parking spaces
- Designated areas for shuttle services and rideshare pick-up/drop-off
- Onsite security screening
- A new vehicle access point from Disney Way
A pedestrian bridge will span Harbor Boulevard, linking the new structure to a newly designed arrival area styled like an esplanade. This bridge will also enhance foot traffic access from Harbor Boulevard itself. Disney anticipates that the project will help alleviate traffic and parking issues in the area surrounding the resort.
