EasyPark Group delivers universal EVC solution

EasyPark EVC solution

Digital parking experts, EasyPark, have expanded their offering to become the universal link between electric vehicle drivers and charging stations. Group CEO, Johan Birgersson, says his team has established a series of partnerships with some of the world’s best-known electric vehicle charging companies, and have already processed tens of thousands of charging transactions this year.

As a part of the EU’s push to reduce carbon emissions, ambitious targets have been set to increase the amount of electric vehicle charging points across Europe, with ten per cent of all buildings’ parking spaces required to have electric vehicle charging points by 2023. All new builds must be fitted with EV charging points from next year onwards. On top of the EU’s initiatives, both Norway and the Netherlands have committed to phase out diesel engines entirely by 2025.

With electric vehicle use on the rise, the European leader in mobile phone paid parking has set about making it easier for EV owners to find, book and pay for their charging. Rather than carrying around several propriety cards or tags from different charging providers, customers can now just use the EasyPark app instead.

As the key supplier of digital parking solutions for fleets and companies, EasyPark recognized the need for an all-inclusive application to handle parking and charging, and so consolidated both in one aggregated payment solution.

Just as we’ve been helping motorists to seamlessly find and pay for parking for many years, we have extended that service to also help solve some additional pain points specifically faced by the fast-growing number of EV drivers across Europe,” stated Birgersson.

EasyPark appOur app is helping drivers address the two largest struggles associated with owning an electric vehicle: ‘range anxiety’ and ‘charge anxiety’, by showing them in the app where the nearest available charging station is and providing a convenient solution to find, remotely manage and pay for both parking and charging. At the same time, EasyPark is connecting EV charging businesses to more and more customers.”

EasyPark has the widest coverage network across Europe, which provides a significant advantage to both drivers and charging companies alike. The EV charging feature exists within the same app, and works across all existing and upcoming markets.

In terms of coverage, we are already nearing 600 cities with on-street parking complemented by contracts with 100 commercial off-street parking operators. As the EU continues to push for reduced carbon emissions and the use of electric vehicles, EasyPark remains at the forefront of tech innovation to accommodate the evolving needs of the modern driver,” said Birgersson.

He added that EasyPark is proud to be working with such high profile providers, including clean energy giants, E.On and Fortum, as well as charging tech experts such as Salto, Circontrol, CGI and RWE.

EasyPark has also established links with Nordic providers such as Ensto, Garo and currently has projects in the pipeline with Zaptec. Birgersson says his team is also in dialogue with other leading EV charging providers in Europe.

The automotive industry is searching for digital solutions like this to be integrated into the head-unit of cars, working seamlessly with a mobile application and EasyPark has anticipated this need.

We’ve been working towards this solution for many years now and have user-tested several different versions. Being the market leader in Norway, which is at the forefront of EV charging globally has given us unique insights and learnings. It’s services like these that are helping to reduce the footprint of city congestion and ultimately demonstrate our vision of making cities more livable,” concluded Birgersson.
