Emobi Raises $3.4m Seed Round to Scale EV Charging Technology

The investment was led by Florida Funders, with continued backing from a group of existing institutional and early-stage investors

US-based EV charging technology provider Emobi has completed a $3.4 million seed funding round to support the expansion of its JustPlug charging platform and accelerate commercial deployment across North America.

The investment was led by Florida Funders, with continued backing from a group of existing institutional and early-stage investors. The new capital will be used to strengthen Emobi’s technical infrastructure and grow its cloud-based Plug & Charge offering through partnerships with automakers, fleet operators, charging networks and infrastructure providers.

Emobi is currently running pilot projects with three of the ten largest electric vehicle manufacturers operating in North America. These trials are focused on validating the large-scale rollout of automated, secure charging functionality embedded directly into vehicles under those brands.

The funding follows the commercial launch of JustPlug, Emobi’s patented cloud-native solution designed to enable automatic EV charging without requiring new hardware, firmware upgrades or driver-facing apps. By leveraging ISO 15118 digital certificate authentication alongside AI-driven charger-to-vehicle recognition, the platform extends Plug & Charge functionality to both modern and legacy charging infrastructure. According to the company, this approach addresses a key industry challenge, as a significant portion of existing chargers and vehicles are not compatible with conventional Plug & Charge systems.

During 2025, Emobi transitioned JustPlug from development into live deployments through multiple commercial partnerships spanning public, fleet and privately managed charging environments. These collaborations demonstrated the platform’s ability to operate across different charging models, including grid-independent fast-charging sites and customer-managed depots.

The seed funding will also support the continued expansion of Emobi’s roaming ecosystem, which currently provides access to more than 140,000 charging ports across over 28 charging networks. Alongside infrastructure growth, the company plans to deepen collaborations with EV software platforms, parking technology providers and other mobility service operators to further simplify charging access for fleets and drivers.

Lin Sun Fa, Chief Executive Officer of Emobi, said the EV industry has long promised seamless charging experiences, yet drivers still face fragmented systems that rely on apps, cards and closed ecosystems. He explained that JustPlug is designed to overcome these barriers by enabling secure, automated charging across existing infrastructure, adding that the new funding will help accelerate Emobi’s efforts to make frictionless charging a standard experience rather than an exception.

Michael Kadow, Partner at Florida Funders, added that Emobi’s approach addresses one of the most critical bottlenecks in EV adoption. He noted that the company’s technology, execution strategy and leadership position it well to play a meaningful role in the future development of EV charging infrastructure.

With the seed round completed, Emobi plans to continue scaling its platform and partnerships, aiming to improve accessibility, reliability and user experience across the North American EV charging landscape.
