EPA President Meets European Committee Chairman in Brussels

President Joan Font recently met with Paolo Costa who is Chair of the European Parliament Committee on Transport and Tourism. This committee deals with European transport policies including car parking.
The meeting was also attended by Board member Nick Lester and Advisory Council member Laurence Bannerman. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce Mr. Costa to the EPA, to make him aware of the importance of parking in transport policies and its impact on the economy of urban areas and to offer our assistance to EU policy makers.

A second meeting is planned where specific issues and concerns of EPA members can be raised and discussed.

EPA Member Associations are being asked whether they or thier members have any issues or concerns which they would like to take to Mr. Costa. These issues must relate to international matters such as legislative harmonisation between countries, design standards, etc. In this way the EPA hopes to encourage legislation and policies in mobility which do not harm, and indeed work for the benefit of car parking business.
