Expo Parking 2013: Award will recognize this edition's most innovative ideas
This year’s tradeshow will host the 2nd TranspoQuip & Expo Parking Innovation Award, in recognition of the industry’s most innovative solutions. The award ceremony will be held at the exhibition, which will take place on December 3, 4 and 5, at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo.
To participate, companies must submit their registration describing the innovation no later than September 10th.
The award reinforces the importance of innovation in Brazils transportation infrastructure given the important role this sector plays in transporting goods and passengers.
Innovative projects, even the simplest ones, interact with their physical and socio-economic environments, generating significant impact on roads, cities and society as a whole. According to Sebas van den Ende, managing director of Real Alliance, the event organizer, intelligent equipment and solutions for the parking industry deserve attention, as the country’s development hinges on an efficient and integrated transportation system.
“Innovative and intelligent transportation systems are essential for handling the rapidly growing demand for passenger and cargo transportation infrastructure, allowing for a more efficient use of the existing infrastructure. As the leading Latin American event for transportation infrastructure, TranspoQuip Latin America is committed to encouraging these innovations and creating a platform to bring the industry together and discuss applications and challenges,” he explains.
In the first edition, thirty companies competed for the award; the winners were Veotex, chosen by the technical jury, and Writesys, chosen by popular vote. Veotex was recognized for creating the VIU solution, hardware with an integrated biometric reading system that uses videos and real-time telemetric technology to administer driving tests. Writesys was chosen by trade fair visitors for its Wfone solution, an emergency telephone with native VOIP and SIP protocol, which is easy to implement and delivers solid and reliable performance.
The organization expects 40 to 50 entries for this year’s innovation award. Each entry will be assessed on the basis of it’s contribution/offering of the following criteria: It must offer management, user safety and convenience, significant technical improvement for the industry, increased mobility, cost reduction for the country, effective support for traffic management, safety, viably application (technical, economical and legal) and contribute positively to users in general.
