Fire in Downtown Nashville Parking Garage

A fire broke out early Tuesday morning in a parking garage attached to Nashville’s main public library, sending thick smoke across the downtown area and prompting the evacuation of a nearby hotel. While witnesses reported hearing multiple explosions from within the structure, no injuries have been confirmed.
According to Nashville District Fire Chief Martin Hampton, the blaze spread across the entire fourth level of the garage. Several vehicles caught fire, including those operated by city services for maintenance and cleaning. Guests at the nearby Renaissance Hotel were evacuated as a precaution.
The parking facility and library are located just a few blocks from Broadway, a hub for nightlife and live music. The garage is often used by late-night visitors heading to the area’s entertainment venues.
As of early Tuesday, city fire and police departments had not issued any official statements.
