GATESHEAD GOES FOR AURA

Gateshead Borough Council has boosted its number of new Metric Auras by a further seven which will be installed early in the New Year.
Of a total of 48 Metric pay and display parking machines on the streets of Gateshead, there are already 12 Auras which will shortly be joined by six more.

It is the intention that the seventh in the batch will replace an old Autoslot in a car park. The Metric machines are a mixture of on-street and off-street. There are 26 off-street and 22 on-street.

Parking supervisor Peter Ronan is looking forward to having more Metric Auras in Gateshead which already has a mix of Autoslots, Accents, S2s and S3s.

We are gradually replacing older parking machines with the new Aura which is giving us good usage, he said. The latest machines will all be linked to our ASLAN Back Office system which was installed in 2003.
