GATESHEADS PARKING MACHINES TO GO ON NETWORK
A north east council is to network its parking machines to save staff time.
Metric Parking’s ASLAN system has been ordered by Gateshead Council to give them ‘real time’ reporting from their machines and minimise downtime.
“We are installing a new server for the GSM ASLAN software which will be important for statistics”, said traffic technician Peter Ronan.
“At present we are manual, but installation of the ASLAN system will help to reduce the amount of time we currently input into computers”.
He also announced that Gateshead is doubling its seven S2 solar power parking machines and will also be ordering four mains power Accents for the council’s multi storey car park.
