High Concrete Group Selected for St. Luke’s Hospital Parking Garage

High Concrete Group LLC is producing a precast concrete parking garage for the St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown, Pa. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2012, the 96,000-square-foot garage replaces an existing 133-spot surface lot with 384 spaces in three stories. The precast concrete components are being produced at High Concrete Group’s Denver, Pa. plant.

High Concrete Group was awarded the $3.1 million contract by Allentown-based Bracy Contracting, Inc., the general contractor for the project. A total of 329 pieces will be erected starting in October. The garage was designed by Tim Haahs Engineers Architects of Blue Bell, Pa.

Planned for construction between Maple, Walnut, South St. Cloud and South 18th streets in the city’s downtown area, the $9.6 million project includes a circular drop-off area to serve the hospital’s new main entrance, completed in 2008, and a connector from the south wing of the hospital to the east wing. Prominent elevations will receive a thin brick finish to integrate with neighboring residential structures.
