HUB: A Customized User Management - The Marina Di Alassio Project

Marina Di Alassio Is Another Successful Project for HUB Italia.

Overlooking the Italian Riviera, Marina di Alassio is a landmark destination for boating and tourism. With approximately 550 berths and a strategic location just a short walk from the beach, the marina welcomes a wide variety of user groups, that change according to the season, scheduled events, and the activities hosted within the port.

In such a dynamic environment, mobility management plays a key role in coordinating diverse operational needs, ensuring smooth access to the port areas while providing operators with efficient tools to monitor and manage the entire infrastructure. In 2024, the property decided to modernize its existing access control system to keep pace with the growing complexity of daily operations. HUB Italia approached the project by first assessing the potential of the existing installation and then designing a tailored, scalable, and more flexible parking management system.

Completed in approximately two weeks, the project involved the complete replacement of the parking and access control system. The surface parking area is organized around a main parking facility with one entry and one exit lane, supported by two APS automatic pay stations. In addition, there are two sub-areas reserved for authorized personnel (boat owners and marina operators), along with two nested parking areas with dedicated entry and exit lanes managed through license plate recognition and Magnetic Parking Pro barriers. Access to the marina is granted through a ticket or license plate recognition, thanks to LPR-enabled cameras. At exit, users can either present their ticket or leave in ticketless mode, with the vehicle automatically recognized through the license plate captured at entry.

The distinctive feature of this project lies in the wide variety of users who rely on the parking facility every day. Alongside occasional visitors and seasonal users, the system must manage boat owners, berth holders, employees, service providers, shipyard customers, marina users, and participants in events held within the facility, each with different habits and operational requirements. Boat owners and berth holders can associate multiple vehicles with their profile, while employees, operators, and service providers benefit from dedicated access methods. During temporary events, specific vouchers and permits can be issued directly by marina staff through the JMS management system.

Despite the complexity of user management, JMS platform enables operators to handle all marina requirements through a single interface. The system simplifies daily operations, allows the creation of customized vouchers and tickets, supports multiple user categories configuration, manages access permissions, and provides comprehensive operational reporting.

Two years after installation, Marina di Alassio continues to benefit from a system capable of evolving alongside the marina's operational needs. The combination of centralized management, automation, and tailored configurations allows the marina to efficiently handle both everyday activities and the events that characterize life at the facility throughout the year.

Marino Agnese, Director of Marina di Alassio, comments:

"This system is like a tailor-made suit, designed specifically for the marina and operational needs. Our requirements are different from those of other facilities, and the ability to customize management has been one of the aspects we appreciated the most."

Marina di Alassio is another successful project for HUB Italia: congratulations to the entire team!
