The Most Recent and Effective Project Involves the Car Park of the New Aquatic Center

The city of Cabourg in Normandie, France, has recently injected innovation into the management of their parking areas, to streamline operations and deliver a premium user experience to the community. The most recent and effective project involves the car park of the new aquatic center – a modern complex which boasts of a swimming pool and full spa and hammam facilities. A combination of sports and delights that is sure to attract active audiences, school kids, and more relaxed crowds.

Catering to user groups as diverse as these required a dedicated effort in design and execution of the car park. HUB France provided the consultancy services, expert advice, and comprehensive project management to define an end-to-end solution for the city of Cabourg.

The car park has thus undergone a significant upgrade with the installation of state-of-the-art HUB equipment: Jupiter product line, combining ticketless and ticketed parking options, leveraging advanced technologies to ensure seamless access and efficient management.

This project was carried out in collaboration with Horanet. The company contributed its expertise in implementing an access control and ticketing solution designed to adapt to different user profiles. Thanks to this integration, entrance management is simplified and perfectly complementary to the car park system, guaranteeing a fluid and homogenous experience for all visitors.

User Groups and Their Needs

The Cabourg swimming pool car park serves a variety of user groups, each with unique requirements:

  • Subscribers: Regular users of the swimming pool who have subscriptions benefit from a hassle-free parking experience. Their vehicles are recognized at entry through License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras, which are linked to their subscription cards. This allows for free parking, eliminating the need for tickets and reducing wait times.
  • Occasional Visitors: For those who do not have a subscription, the car park offers a traditional ticketed system. This ensures that all users can access the facility conveniently, whether they are frequent visitors or one-time guests. The parking fee calculated is by the hour.
  • School Buses: The car park is equipped with double-height parking terminals specifically designed to accommodate school buses. This feature addresses the need for safe and efficient parking for larger vehicles, ensuring that school groups can access the swimming pool without difficulty – and kids get all the time they need to learn how to swim!

System and Technology

HUB France works on Cabourg swimming pool encompassed hardware, software, and third-party integrations in a holistic way. The car park includes several key components:

  • License Plate Recognition (LPR) Cameras: These cameras are integral to the ticketless system. They automatically recognize the license plates of subscribers' vehicles, granting them free entry and exit. This technology enhances security and reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
  • Proximity Technology Tags: Subscribers are also provided with tags that use proximity technology. These tags offer an additional layer of convenience, allowing subscribers to enter and exit the car park without the need for physical tickets or manual interventions.
  • Standard and Double-Height Stations: The car park features standard stations for regular vehicles and double-height stations for school buses. This ensures that all types of vehicles can be accommodated, ensuring smooth operations.
  • JMS Parking Management System: all access media, transits, and transactions are instantly registered and monitored through a central dashboard, which is the user interface of parking management system JMS. The system applies dynamic tariff according to the operator’s requirements and allows for 24/7 access to parking data. In compliance with GDPR, no sensitive data are stored.

The installation of HUB Parking Technology equipment at the Cabourg swimming pool car park represents a significant step forward in the urban parking management. By catering to the needs of subscribers, occasional visitors, and school buses, the new system enhances user experience, improves operational efficiency, and promotes accessibility. For French municipality planners, facility managers, and parking operators, this upgrade serves as a model for how advanced technology can transform parking facilities into more user-friendly and efficient spaces.
